
WIN Board Responsibilities

The Programs team focuses on the networking and educational programs for chapter members, which may include such responsibilities as planning chapter events, determining topics and arranging for speakers (including and maintaining an interested speaker list). They may also be responsible for non-event educational initiatives, such as career development programs (in partnership with the Mentorship team), partnerships with other organizations and webinars. Key coordination with Sponsorship and Conference team.

The Membership and Social team works to retain and increase chapter membership and promote member involvement in chapter activities. This may include recruiting potential members, following up with event attendees who have not joined WIN, initiating membership drives, and promoting member benefits. They will also plan and organize social events for members including happy hours, dinners, etc. They are also focused on communicating with current and potential chapter members, event attendees, and sponsors. This may include event e-blasts, PR, social media, newsletters, LinkedIn, and website content

This team identifies potential sponsors to support chapter events and initiatives, as well as coordinates and develops partnerships with key conference series. Responsibilities may include outreach to potential sponsors, managing sponsor arrangements, and ensuring sponsorship obligations are fulfilled. Experience in building relationships with companies appropriate for WIN sponsorship would be helpful to this position. focuses on coordinating and developing partnerships with key conference series. This will include recent engagement on organizing and creating brownbag educational lunches with funds, advisors, lawyers and consultants once per month. Key coordination with the Programs team.

The role of the Mentorship committee is to coordinate mentoring circles and create content for the mentoring program. The team may also plan cross-circle events to encourage mentorship and networking across the Greater New York City chapter. A recent initiative is to liaison with the Sponsor team and create a coffee catch up circuit with opted in funds, consultants, advisors and lawyers.

The Treasurer will take ownership of the budget for WIN NYC, tax compliance or updates to not for profit tax status and manage WIN bank account and recurring expenses (website). The treasurer will also be responsible for maintaining a log of documents for WIN (by laws, signed sponsorship agreements, historical budgets used for events, etc.). There is also an initiative suggested by the board members to apply for a 501 3 C status which would be undertaken by the Treasurer if practical.
